  1. You need 500 ml milk
  2. Take 2 spoon sour curd
  3. You need 1/2 tbsp semolina
  4. Provide 1/2 tbsp all purpose flour/wheat flour
  5. Get 1/2 tbsp+1 tbsp cardamom powder
  6. Prepare Modak mould
  7. Get 1/2 tbsp ghee for greasing
  8. Take 1/2 tbsp sugar
  9. Take 3 tbsp chopped dry fruits(cashew nuts,raisins,pistachios)
  10. Use 1/2 cup sugar
  11. Provide 1 cup water
  12. Use Oil for dip frying
Instructions to make Chhenajhilli modak:
  1. Put the milk on a vessel and allow it to boil.
  2. When it starts boiling add the the curd to it. It starts curdling. Switch off the flame.
  3. Strain the Chhena from the whey and hang it for 1/2hour by the help of a muslin cloth.
  4. Mash the Chhena gently and add flour,sugar(1/2tbsp),semolina and cardamom powder to it.
  5. Mash it properly.
  6. Grease a modak mould with ghee. Place the Chhena in it with the dry fruits.
  7. Demould it. In this way prepare all the modaks.
  8. Dip fry all the modaks in oil.
  9. In another sauce pan boil sugar and water to make the sugar syrup for 10minutes. Add cardamom powder to it.
  10. Then place all the fried modaks in this syrup.
  11. Switch off the flame after 2minutes.
  12. The Chhenajhilli modak are now ready for Prasad on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh chaturthi.
